What kind of electronic signatures can I sign use with SigningHub in Singapore?

The ETA defines two types of electronic signatures:

  • Electronic signature – Any electronic means to identify and authenticate a person and to indicate that the person approves of the information contained in the record
  • Secure electronic signature (SES) – Electronic signatures that meet additional security requirements, such as being created using a cryptographic algorithm and being linked to the electronic record. These are much more secure and ensure the authenticity and integrity of the record.

SigningHub supports Singapore’s SES requirements through its integration with SingPass. SingPass is the country’s national digital identity system. By leveraging SingPass authentication, SigningHub enables users to create secure electronic signatures that are legally recognised as equivalent to handwritten signatures.

Can I use SigningHub to sign Word documents?

You can easily sign MS Word documents with SigningHub using our MS Word add-in or by uploading your Word documents to SigningHub.

This is because SigningHub uses an OAuth authentication mechanism, which requires you to grant permission to SigningHub to access your email account.
