Making signing simpler with smart cards, tokens and roamed software credentials
What is local signing?
Local signing is where the signing key is in the possession of the owning user and therefore the signature takes place locally. The signing key needs to be securely protected and SigningHub supports the following approaches:
Smart cards e.g. your national eID card. Sometimes the smart card is in the form of a secure USB token.
Roamed credentials, in the form of a self-protecting software container which is saved on the server but downloaded and used locally after successfully authenticating the user.
Standard Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS key stores. Through these standard OS interfaces SigningHub can access both hardware and software based signing keys.

Reusing National eID Cards
Most National eID cards issued around the world have a PKI signing key on them. These cards can be used with SigningHub making the national eID infrastructure even more valuable to end-users and businesses.
Browser Agnostic
The solution does not require a browser plugin and is compatible with a wide range of browsers. The Go>Sign Desktop works externally and is auto-invoked from the browser page.
No Applets
The solution does not rely on Java applets, active controls or any other downloaded code which are now blocked by most modern browsers due to security concerns.
